Querio vs Claude
Claude is brilliant. It's not a data platform.
We love Claude. Querio's AI layer uses frontier models like it every day. But "Claude with a CSV upload" is not the same thing as a data platform, and pretending otherwise is how finance teams end up with three different numbers for revenue.
This page is for the honest question we get asked: Why not just use Claude with our data?
The real decision
1. Will the numbers be the same twice?
Point Claude at your warehouse and ask "what was revenue last quarter." Ask again tomorrow. You'll get a different query, sometimes a different number, depending on which tables Claude picked that day.
Querio defines revenue once in a semantic layer, governs it, and every answer uses the same definition. Claude is great at reasoning. It's not great at remembering your business's definitions across conversations.
2. Is it connected to your data?
Claude reads files you paste or upload. That's a session, not a connection.
Querio connects to Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, and the rest with read-only credentials. Data stays where it is. Self-hosted if you need it.
3. Can you distribute the answer?
Claude gives you a conversation. Querio gives you a scheduled report in Slack, an embedded dashboard in your product, or an MCP endpoint your own AI products can hit.
Where they overlap, where they don't
Generates SQL and Python | Yes | Yes |
Live warehouse connection | Yes | No |
Governed semantic layer | Yes | No |
Reproducible notebooks | Yes | Partial (Artifacts) |
Scheduled reports / embeds | Yes | No |
Admin controls, audit logs | Yes | Enterprise only |
General-purpose intelligence | Uses frontier models | World-class |
The best answer: use both
Querio exposes an MCP endpoint specifically so Claude (and the next frontier model, and the one after) can query your governed data through the front door. Claude does the thinking. Querio does the knowing.
If you're asking "Claude or Querio," you're probably asking the wrong question. The right one is: how do I give my team Claude's intelligence grounded in my company's data? That's what Querio exists to do.
