00--ABOUT

Passport is a logistics and shipping company that runs its analytics on Snowflake. Its product team is a mix of technical and non-technical managers, and all of them lean on the same data to figure out how the business and its tracking systems are actually performing.

01--PROBLEM

Passport’s product managers couldn’t get to their own data. The technical PMs knew how to query it but didn’t have the hours to spare. The non-technical PMs had the questions but not the SQL to answer them.

Either way, the request ended up in the data team’s queue, and that queue was already full. Insights came back late, or didn’t come back at all. Tableau was supposed to close the gap, but it wasn’t built for the kind of granular, one-off analysis the team kept needing.

“I find Tableau absolutely useless for the types of things that I’m looking for. This is why I like Querio.”

Ilan Rotenburg, Director of Product Management

02--SOLUTION

Passport brought in Querio and gave every PM a way to ask their Snowflake data questions in plain language. No SQL to write, no ticket to file with the data team.

Querio set up the context up front, so there was no long onboarding to get through before it was useful. Technical and non-technical PMs now run their own analysis against live data, including the tracking-code-format work that used to need a specialist.

03--RESULT

The two-week wait turned into about an hour. Work that used to sit behind the data team — including faster, more accurate tracking-code-format analysis — now gets done the same day by the person who needs it.

It also gave back roughly two hours a week per product manager that had been going to chasing data, and opened the same self-serve analysis up to operations and customer success.

“Being able to go from two weeks to one hour with Querio has been a game-changer. It’s not even just about saving time, it’s about empowering our team to focus on strategic decisions rather than getting bogged down in data analysis.”

Ilan Rotenburg, Director of Product Management
