01--PROBLEM
Mercury Data’s operational data was doing its job — it just wasn’t doing anyone else’s. The underlying schemas were shaped for software operations, not analytical questions, which meant every business question required translation. Reporting moved through a chain of stakeholders, each adding days, and by the time a number reached a decision-maker it was often stale. The business team couldn’t explore; they could only wait.

02--SOLUTION
Querio rolled out a multi-phase transformation designed to fix the problem at the layer where it actually lived — between the raw data and the language the business uses. The team first sat down with Mercury’s operators to map the vocabulary of the business and the questions that mattered, then worked with engineering to audit the existing storage footprint. From there, Querio designed a new analytics architecture: an ETL pipeline that reshaped raw operational data into query-optimized tables, a BigQuery warehouse to host it, and a custom semantic layer and data catalog that map business terms directly to the underlying fields. Non-technical users can now navigate the warehouse in the language they already speak.

03--RESULT
What used to be a two-week choreography across analysts, engineers, and operators now takes about 30 minutes — a 20x reduction in cycle time. Data-driven insights land at roughly 95% accuracy because the semantic layer enforces the business’s own definitions, and every business user who needs a number can now get it themselves. Mercury has been one of Querio’s most engaged dashboard users and serves as a customer reference for other prospects evaluating the platform.
