Growdash is a B2B SaaS platform that helps restaurants run their business — menu engineering, pricing, performance, and operational analytics — in a single interface, plugged directly into the restaurant's POS and operational stack.
01--PROBLEM
Growdash is a B2B SaaS platform for restaurants — which means two data problems stacked on top of each other. The internal team needs to understand how hundreds of restaurant clients are using the product, and each of those restaurant clients needs to understand what's happening inside their own operation. Growdash was running that whole motion through Looker (bundled with GCP), plus a data-analyst team translating questions into dashboards. The setup worked, but it was slow and expensive: producing a new insight for a client took up to two weeks, and the analyst team was the bottleneck on every request. For a company selling speed-of-insight as part of the value prop, that was the wrong shape.

02--SOLUTION
Growdash replaced Looker with Querio and wired natural-language querying straight into the Growdash experience for both the internal team and the restaurant clients. Instead of routing every question through an analyst, restaurant operators ask Querio directly — "which items are under-performing this week?", "what's my lunch vs. dinner mix year over year?" — and get an answer against live data. The internal team uses the same surface to run customer-health analysis, pricing experiments, and product usage reporting. The semantic layer encodes Growdash's definitions of SKU, daypart, basket, and cover, so the answers stay consistent no matter who is asking.

03--RESULT
Retiring Looker and the analyst layer took more than $200K a year off Growdash's cost structure. Time-to-insight for the restaurant clients dropped from two weeks to thirty minutes — which, for a restaurant trying to react to a weekend's performance on Monday morning, is the difference between learning from the data and missing the window. Growdash estimates each restaurant client now saves roughly $40K a year by self-serving analytics instead of relying on outside analysts or pulling staff off operations.
